On October 24th at 7.30 pm, at Easthampstead, Bracknell, Cynthia Gamble will be giving a lecture entitled “Desperate Romantics: Ruskin, the Rector and the Pre-Raphaelites at Easthampstead”. The lecture will provide an exploration of the personalities and social networks that led to a flowering of Pre-Raphaelite art at Easthampstead. Entry is by a minimum donation of £5 in aid of the Mosaic Restoration Appeal.
Dr Cynthia Gamble is one of the leading authorities on Ruskin and widely in demand as a lecturer in Britain and throughout Western Europe. She is a Visiting Fellow of the Ruskin Library and Research Centre at Lancaster University and Vice-Chairman of the Ruskin Society.
The author will be signing copies of her recent book “John Ruskin, Henry James and the Shropshire Lads”. Price £18.50, of which £5 will be donated to the Mosaic Restoration Appeal.
