The Poetry School is running a course suitable for everyone on nineteenth century poetry, which might be of interest to those with an interest in the Victorians. It doesn’t say if it includes any Pre-Raphaelite poetry but it sounds interesting. For more information, click here.

When the young Tennyson published his first book of poems in 1830, the Romantic poets were all but gone and the new age of poetry still waiting in the wings. How did he and others make sense of that famous but fading poetic landscape? On a journey from Wordsworth to Hardy, this reading group will introduce you to the great English Romantic revolution in poetry and then head on to encounter the outstanding Victorian poets who took over.
